Detectives with our Homicide Unit are
conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting Wednesday evening
in the city of Seat Pleasant. The victim is 24-year-old Lamont Adair Jr.
of Minna Avenue in Capitol Heights. A reward of up to $25,000 is being
offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
On August 8th, at
approximately 3:50 pm, officers with the Seat Pleasant Police
Department were called to the 6600 block of Greig Street in Seat Pleasant for a
report of a shooting. Officers discovered the victim outside
suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the
scene.
Detectives are actively working to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.
