Prince
George’s County Police patrol officers arrested two of three bank robbers just
minutes after they hit a Lanham bank on Wednesday. They are 33-year-old Charles
Gray of the 2000 block of Ritchie Road in Forestville and 43-year-old Donnell
Berry of the 1500 block of Ritchie Road. Then, just 5 hours later,
officers located and arrested the third suspect, 29-year-old Branden Porter.
His last known address in the 8000 block of Eureka Street in Forestville.
On
September 4th, at approximately 10:30 am, Gray walked into the bank
in the 9000 block of Annapolis Road in Lanham. He threatened an employee and
demanded cash. The employee complied. Gray then left the bank and got into a
green GMC Yukon that was waiting outside.
The
lookout for the suspect’s SUV was broadcast to officers who rushed to the bank
robbery call and quickly located the SUV in the area of Lottsford Vista Road.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the SUV fled. The SUV became
disabled at the intersection of Woodmore Drive and Clearwood Drive. All three
suspects then jumped out of the car. Gray was located a short time later hiding
under the back deck of a home. Evidence linked to the robbery was located next
to him. Berry was also arrested minutes later in some nearby woods. At
approximately 3:30 pm, patrol officers spotted Porter in Mitchellville. He
tried to run from officers but was quickly arrested.
Gray,
Porter and Berry are all charged with robbery, assault and theft. They are in
the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

del Condado de Prince George arrestaron a dos de los 3 asaltantes de un banco
en Lanham apenas minutos después de que éstos asaltaran el miércoles. Éstos fueron
identificados como Charles Gray, de 33 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 2000 de Ritchie Road en Forestville y Donnell
Berry, de 43 años de edad y vecino de la
cuadra 1500 de Ritchie Road. Luego de esto, solo 5 horas después, los oficiales
localizaron y arrestaron al tercer sospechoso, Branden Porter, de 29 años de
edad. Su último domicilio conocido era en la cuadra 8000 de Eureka Street en
Forestville.
El 4 de septiembre, a eso de las 10:30
am, Gray entró al banco en la cuadra 9000 de Annapolis Road en Lanham. Éste amenazó
a un empleado y exigió dinero en efectivo. El empleado accedió. Gray luego
abandonó el banco y se montó en una GMC Yukon color verde que le esperaba
afuera.
La alerta de vigilancia con la
información del vehículo sospechoso fue transmitida a los oficiales quienes de
inmediato acudieron al área y rápidamente localizaron la SUV en el área de
Lottsford Vista Road. Los oficiales intentaron detenerle pero la SUV se dio a
la fuga. El vehículo fue incapacitado en la intersección entre Woodmore Drive y
Clearwood Drive. Los tres sospechosos salieron del vehículo. A Gray lo
encontraron escondido debajo del balcón de una casa poco después. También
hallaron evidencia conectada al robo cerca de éste. A Berry también le
arrestaron en un área boscosa unos minutos después. Aproximadamente a las 3:30
pm, oficiales de patrulla localizaron a Porter en Mitchellville. Éste trató de huirle
a los policías pero le arrestaron rápido.
A Gray, Porter y a Berry se les acusa
de robo, agresión y hurto. Se encuentran bajo la custodia del Departamento de
Correcciones sin fianza.
