Lieutenant Richard Tallant faces a charge of second degree
sex offense for an incident that occurred two years ago. The alleged unlawful
conduct occurred in February of 2017 while he was off-duty. His police powers
were suspended in April of 2019 when the Prince George's County Police
Department was made aware of the allegations, which involved him sexually
assaulting a woman with whom he was familiar, while attending a social outing
in Upper Marlboro.
The Internal Affairs Division immediately launched an
investigation after learning of the allegation. The PGPD brought the case to
the State's Attorney's Office for consideration of criminal charges following
an internal investigation.
Tallant is now suspended without pay. He joined the
department in 1997 and is currently assigned to the Narcotics Enforcement
Division.

George acusó a un suspendido oficial de la Policía el martes.
El Teniente Richard Tallant enfrenta
un cargo de ofensa sexual en segundo grado por un incidente que ocurrió hace
dos años. La conducta impropia se alega haber ocurrido en febrero de 2017,
mientras éste no estaba en turno. Sus poderes policiales fueron suspendidos en
abril de 2019 cuando el Departamento de la Policía del Condado de Prince George
fue apercibido de las alegaciones, las cuales le involucraban agrediendo
sexualmente a una mujer a quien éste conocía, mientras asistían un evento
social en Upper Marlboro.
