On February 7th, at approximately 5:20 pm, patrol officers were called to the 6900 block of Annapolis Road for a pedestrian collision. Once on scene, officers located the victim suffering from injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later.
The investigation reveals the striking vehicle was traveling eastbound on Annapolis Road when it struck the victim who was in the roadway. Preliminarily, it does not appear the victim was in a crosswalk. Investigators are working to determine why the victim was in the roadway and determine the circumstances leading to the collision. The striking driver did not stay on the scene.
Investigators are also working to determine the make and model of the striking vehicle. Preliminarily, it’s believed the vehicle could be red in color.

Investigadores de PGPD Buscan a Conductor Involucrado en Mortal Choque-y-Fuga Contra un Peatón
La Unidad de Reconstrucción y Análisis de Choques quisiera comunicarse con cualquier persona que haya presenciado o pudiese tener información sobre un mortal choque-y-fuga ocurrido el pasado viernes. La víctima fue identificada como Cornelious Weeks Jr., de 92 años de edad y vecino de Upper Marlboro.
El 7 de febrero, a eso de la 5:20 pm, oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la cuadra 6900 de Annapolis Road tras recibir información sobre un choque contra un peatón. Una vez allí, los oficiales hallaron a la víctima con heridas. Éste fue llevado a un hospital en donde falleció poco después.
La investigación revela que el vehículo que impactó al peatón viajaba en dirección este en Annapolis Road cuando impactó a la víctima, quien se encontraba en la carretera. De manera preliminar, no parece que la víctima se encontrara utilizando un cruce peatonal. Nuestros investigadores buscan determinar por qué la víctima se encontraba en la carretera así como las circunstancias que llevaron al choque. El conductor del vehículo que impactó al peatón no permaneció en la escena.
Los investigadores del caso además buscan identificar la marca y modelo del vehículo involucrado, el cual preliminarmente se entiende que pudiese ser color rojo.
