The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian Sunday night in Lanham. The deceased pedestrian’s name will be released once his family is located and notified.
On June 4, 2023, at approximately 10:00 pm, officers responded to
the 9400 block of Lanham Severn Road for a crash involving a pedestrian.
The preliminary investigation revealed a driver struck the
pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The striking driver did not initially remain on the scene. Approximately three
hours after the collision, officers in the area who were searching for the
involved vehicle were approached by an adult female who identified herself as
the driver. The involved vehicle was then located.
