The Homicide Unit is working to arrest the suspect(s) who fatally shot a teenager and injured a second victim in the Langley Park area on Wednesday. The victim is 16-year-old Kevin Ruiz Campos of Silver Spring.
On June 14, 2023, at approximately 5:30 pm, officers responded to the 7900 block of Riggs Road for a shooting. Once on scene, they located Campos in an apartment building parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A second victim, an adult male, was also shot. He remains hospitalized.
Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and motive.
