The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who killed a man in the city of Hyattsville. The victim is 33-year-old Avrell Milam of no fixed address.
On August 30, 2023, at approximately 2:55 am, officers with the Hyattsville Police Department responded to the 2900 block of Belcrest Center Drive for the report of an unresponsive person. Once on scene, they located the victim outside suffering from trauma. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The PGPD’s Homicide Unit was notified and assumed the investigation.
Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.
The PGPD investigates all homicides in the city of Hyattsville.
