Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville. The victim is 30-year-old Idongesit Udosen of Lanham. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On April 4, 2024, at approximately 3:40 pm, officers responded to the 6800 block of Greenvale Parkway for the report of a shooting. Officers located Udosen in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed Udosen was working for a trash removal company at the time of the shooting. Detectives are investigating a motive and working to identify a suspect(s). Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
