Michael Brand
The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit charged a man in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month in Landover. The suspect is 43-year-old John Michael Brand of White Plains, MD. He is charged with the murder of 60-year-old Constance Miller of no fixed address.
On January 8, 2026, at approximately 11:35 pm, officers responded to a shooting in the 3100 block of 75th Avenue. Officers located Miller outside suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries where she died on January 16, 2026.
The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect shot the victim during an argument. Brand and Miller were known to each other.
Brand is charged with first-degree murder. The PGPD thanks the Charles County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance in this investigation.
