The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision which occurred on Tuesday. The deceased driver is 25-year-old Mohammed Al Yasiri of Laurel.
On April 28, 2026, at approximately 6:45 am, officers responded to a collision near Laurel Bowie Road at Old Laurel Bowie Road in the unincorporated section of Bowie. Al Yasiri was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The second involved driver remains in critical condition.
The preliminary investigation revealed Al Yasiri was traveling southbound on Laurel Bowie Road. For reasons now under investigation, his car crossed into the northbound lanes where it collided with the second vehicle.
