The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash in Landover on Saturday. The name of the deceased driver, an adult female, will be released once her family is located and notified.
On April 11, 2026, at approximately 12:40 am, officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the area of Landover Road and Martin Luther King Junior Highway. The driver was transported to a hospital where she died of her injuries. Her passenger, an adult male, suffered injuries that are preliminarily not considered life-threatening.
The preliminary investigation revealed the driver was traveling northbound on Landover Road approaching the exit for Martin Luther King Junior Highway, when for reasons now under investigation, her car veered off the roadway and struck a tree.
