PGPD Investigates Fatal Collision in Bladensburg

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Wednesday night in Bladensburg. A passenger in one of the cars, 57-year-old Robert Kenneth Johnson of Clermont, FL, was killed.

On June 17^th, at approximately 7:25 pm, officers responded to the 5300 block of Annapolis Road for a collision involving two vehicles.

The preliminary investigation revealed Johnson was a passenger in a car that was heading eastbound on Annapolis Road approaching 53^rd Avenue. The second involved car was attempting to make a left turn onto westbound Annapolis Road from 53th Avenue. For reasons that are under investigation, the driver making that left turn lost control of his car and collided with the car carrying Johnson. Johnson was pronounced dead on the scene. No one else involved in this collision suffered what appear to be life-threatening injuries.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque en Bladensburg

La Unidad de Análisis y Reconstrucción de Choques investiga un mortal choque vehicular ocurrido el miércoles en la noche, en el área de Bladensburg. El pasajero de uno de los vehículos, Robert Kenneth Johnson, de 57 años de edad y vecino de Clermont, Florida, perdió su vida. El 17 de junio, a eso de las 7:25 de la noche, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 5300 de Annapolis Road tras recibir información sobre un choque entre dos vehículos.

La investigación preliminar reveló que Johnson era pasajero dentro del vehículo que viajaba en dirección este sobre Annapolis Road, acercándose a 53rd Avenue. El segundo vehículo involucrado intentaba hacer un viraje a la izquierda para montarse sobre Annapolis Road en dirección oeste, viniendo de 53rd Avenue. Por razones que aún permanecen bajo investigación. El conductor que intentaba hacer el viraje perdió el control del vehículo y chocó con el auto en el cual viajaba Johnson. Victim in Capitol Heights Shooting Dies of Injuries

Detectives with our Homicide Unit are now leading the investigation into a shooting that occurred June 6th in Capitol Heights. The victim is 34-year-old Russell Buckner Jr. of Capitol Heights. He died of his injuries on June 16^th.

On June 6th, at approximately 10:00 pm, patrol officers were called to the 4600 block of Leroy Gorham Drive for a shooting. Buckner Jr. was discovered outside suffering from a gunshot wound and was rushed to an area hospital.

  

Detectives are actively working to identify a suspect(s) and a motive. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

Víctima de Tiroteo en Capitol Heights Muere de Sus Heridas

Detectives de nuestra Unidad de Homicidios encabezan la investigación de un tiroteo ocurrido el 6 de junio en Capitol Heights. La víctima fue identificada como Russell Buckner Jr., de 34 años de edad y vecino de Capitol Heights. Éste murió de sus heridas el 16 de junio.

El 6 de junio, a eso de las 10:00 de la noche, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 4600 de Leroy Gorham Drive tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. Buckner Jr. fue hallado afuera con una herida de bala y le trasladaron de inmediato a un hospital del área.

Los detectives investigan para establecer el motivo del asesinato e identificar posible(s) sospechoso(s). . De manera preliminar, nuestros detectives entienden que no fue un crimen al azar.

Wanted Wednesday

Gas Station Armed Robbery

We’re starting this week’s Wanted Wednesday with an armed robbery at a gas station. The crime took place on June 11^th in the 5900 block of Greenbelt Road. The suspect pulled out a gun and stole money and cigarettes. The suspect was seen fleeing in this pictured car. Burglary Suspect

Up next, this suspect is wanted in connection with a commercial burglary in the 5200 block of Marlboro Pike in Capitol Heights on June 4^th. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect broke the front glass door of a convenience store and stole multiple items. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 301-772-4911. Our next case is a burglary which occurred in the 2400 block of Chillum Road on June 12^th. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect broke a window and gained access into a business. And finally, we’re asking the community to help us identify this suspect wanted in connection with a commercial burglary in the 6200 block of Central Avenue in Capitol Heights on June 14^th. The suspect broke into a restaurant and stole the cash register. Shooting Victim Dies of Injuries; Case Ruled a Homicide

Detectives with our Homicide Unit are now leading the investigation into a shooting that occurred in mid-April in College Park. The victim is 22-year-old Karim Kambo Jr. of College Park. He was shot inside of his apartment on April 18^th and died on June 10^th. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime. 

On April 18^th, at approximately 7:40 pm, patrol officers were called to an apartment in the 8700 block of Baltimore Avenue for a shooting. Kambo Jr. was discovered inside of the apartment suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment. He died of his injuries on June 10^th.
  

Detectives are actively working to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.

Víctima de Tiroteo Muere de Sus Heridas – Catalogan el Caso como Homicidio

Detectives de nuestra Unidad de Homicidios encabezan la investigación de un tiroteo ocurrido a mediados de abril en College Park. La víctima fue identificada como Karim Kambo Jr., de 22 años de edad y vecino de College Park. A éste le dispararon dentro de su apartamento el 18 de abril y murió el 10 de junio. De manera preliminar, nuestros detectives entienden que no fue un crimen al azar.

El 18 de abril, a eso de las 7:40 de la noche, nuestros oficiales acudieron a un apartamento en la cuadra 8700 de Baltimore Avenue tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. Kambo Jr. fue hallado con múltiples heridas de bala dentro del apartamento. Le trasladaron de inmediato al hospital para recibir tratamiento de emergencia. Este murió de sus heridas el 10 de junio.

Los detectives continúan investigando para establecer el motivo del asesinato e identificar un sospechoso(s).
