The Prince George’s County Police Department has corrected a minor error in its new Automated Speed Enforcement Program in which motorists were cited for speeding violations along the 6800 to 7800 block of High Bridge Road in Bowie. A total of eighteen citations were mistakenly issued on Sunday, September 25, 2011.
The Automated Speed Enforcement Program operates Monday – Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Those who received erroneous citations will either have them waived or be reimbursed. This error is not a system-wide problem and has since been rectified. This was an isolated issue with one camera improperly programmed by the vendor to operate on a Sunday.
