The Prince George's County Community Services Division is accepting donations for its upcoming "Family to Family" thrift store event on Saturday, November 12, 2011.
Currently being accepted are donations of new or gently used clothing, shoes, toys, books, and other miscellaneous items are being accepted prior to the November 12 event. In addition to accepting items of clothing and shoes, the Community Services Division is also collecting monetary donations for the "Desperate Dollars" fund. The "Desperate Dollars" fund is set up to assist families in need that may wish to purchase items from the thrift store but to not have the money to afford it. Proceeds from the event will be divided equally among the Community Services Division and the Community Outreach Development, Inc. to assist families in need and the police department's Police Explorers program county wide.
Donations for the event are being accepted at the Community Services Division office located at 805 Brighseat Road, Landover, Maryland 20785. All proceeds are tax deductible and those donating will receive a receipt noting their contributions. For more information, please contact Sgt.
