Police Urge Caution after Reported Sexual Assault in Temple Hills

Prince George's County, Maryland... The Prince George’s County Police Department is urging parents and students to be cautious after a report of the sexual assault of a young girl in the 3100 block of Scottish Drive in Temple Hills, Maryland.
On October 20, 2011, at approximately 4:50 p.m., a 10 year old girl was approached by a suspect who grabbed her and forced her into a nearby wooded area where she was assaulted.  Several witnesses who heard the victim calling for help went into the woods to assist and scared the suspect away.     
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 14-16 years old.  He is approximately 5’5”-5’6” tall with a close haircut.  The suspect was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and red and white shoes.
Police ask that citizens report any suspicious activity that they may have observed in the area. Police encourage parents to remind their children to be careful when walking to and from school and other activities, walk in well lit areas, and walk in groups whenever possible.
