The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in Lanham on Sunday evening. The victim is 29-year-old Yenis Guerro of Sonora Place in Alexandria, VA.
On October 22nd, at approximately 9:55 pm, patrol officers were called to Greenbelt Road at Aerospace Drive for the report of a collision involving two cars. Guerro was pronounced dead at the scene. Four additional occupants in the car with Guerro suffered serious injuries. The driver of the second car suffered what appear to be minor injuries.
The preliminary investigation reveals the victim was riding in a car traveling eastbound on Greenbelt Road when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Aerospace Drive. The second car, which was traveling westbound on Greenbelt Road, collided with the victim’s car. Investigators are working to determine which vehicle had the right-of-way.
