Detectives with our Homicide Unit are investigating a fatal shooting in Suitland early Tuesday morning. The victim is 32-year-old Marco Sawyer of Capitol Heights. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On August 23, 2022, at approximately 4:40 am, patrol officers were called to the 4000 block of Silver Hill Road for a report of a shooting. They discovered Sawyer unresponsive suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.
