Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Tuesday. The victim is 41-year-old Airmus Dillard of Capitol Heights. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On
March 5, 2024, at approximately 6:25 pm, officers responded to the 300 block
Cedarleaf Avenue
in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights for the
report of a shooting. Once on scene, they located Dillard suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the
hospital where he died several hours later.
Detectives are working to determine a motive and
identify a suspect(s). Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.
