PGPD Investigates Homicide in Capitol Heights

Updated January 1, 2015: The victim is identified as 28-year-old Kedir Yahya of Orren Street in Northeast Washington. Investigators are continuing to work to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case. Anyone with information is urged to call 1-866-411-TIPS.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide in Capitol Heights. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. 

On December 31, 2014, at about 1:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 800 block of Balsamtree Drive for the report of a suspicious car in the roadway. When they arrived, they found a taxicab driver inside his cab suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.

The victim’s name will be released once his family has been notified.
