PGPD Investigates Homicide in Croom

Updated: January 18, 2015: The victim is 31-year-old James Ryan Burch of Solomons Island Road in Harwood, MD. Anyone with information on this case is urged to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. An up to $25,000 reward is available.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide in Croom. On January 18, 2015, just before 3:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 7000 block of Crain Highway, Croom, for a report of a shooting. Once on scene, patrol officers found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives do not believe this was a random act. Investigators are still working to identify the suspect(s) in this case.
