PGPD to Canvass Laurel Community in Homicide Investigation




Prince George’s County Police detectives will canvass a Laurel community this evening to pass out Crime Solvers flyers in connection with a homicide that occurred yesterday. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in this case.

The victim is identified as 23-year-old Tyrone Archer, Jr., of Laurel Walk Way in Laurel.

On January 22, 2015, at about 3:45 pm, patrol officers were called to the 8200 block of Imperial Drive for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found Archer outside suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.

The canvass will begin this evening at 6:00 pm. Detectives will begin in the 8200 block of Imperial Drive.
