Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested 17 year-old Savon Lee Blanchard in connection with the murder of 23 year-old Alusine Kargbo in New Carrollton, Maryland.
Blanchard was developed as a suspect in the murder of Alusine Kargbo and a warrant was obtained for his arrest on June 3, 2011. On June 9, 2011 at approximately 4:40 p.m. Blanchard, of the 1800 block of Village Green Drive in Landover, turned himself into authorities. He is being charged with 2nd Degree Murder and has been remanded to the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.
On May 31, 2011 at approximately 8:48 p.m., patrol officers from the New Carrollton Police Department responded to the 8300 block of Quintana Street for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a crime scene and discovered the victim, Alusine Kargbo, of the 9300 block of Wellington Street, had been transported to a local hospital in a private vehicle. He was pronounced deceased a short time later.
