Homicide Unit detectives are actively working to arrest the suspect(s) who fatally shot a man in Greenbelt early this morning. The victim is 26-year-old Lamont Woods of Hanover Parkway in Greenbelt. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random shooting.
On September 18th, at approximately 2:15 am, officers responded to the 7000 block of Hanover Parkway for a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found the victim in an apartment building stairwell suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and establish a motive.
