The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis
and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal
collision involving a bicycle in Lanham on Sunday.
The victim is 33-year-old Mario Yattum of Annapolis Road in Lanham.
On September 16th, at approximately
10:00 pm, officers responded to the intersection of Annapolis Road
and Morley Road for the report of a collision.
The preliminary investigation reveals the involved car was traveling westbound on Annapolis Road approaching
Morley Road. The victim was on his bike in the median of that intersection. For
reasons which remain under investigation, the victim entered the roadway and
was struck. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver and two passengers
in the car were not hurt. The driver remained on the scene.
