The Homicide Unit charged two men in connection with a fatal shooting in Oxon Hill on Monday. The victim is 24-year-old Howard Nakia
Graham of Washington, DC. The suspects are
24-year-old Deantre Hilliard of the 1400 block of Tobias Drive in Southeast,
Washington DC, and 39-year-old Leonard Toney of the 4400 block of Reverend
Davis Drive in Upper Marlboro.
On March 30th, at approximately 7:40 pm, patrol officers were called to
the 800 block of Southern Avenue for a shooting.
Officers found Graham outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was
pronounced dead on the scene. A second person was also shot. His injuries are
not life-threatening.
Responding
patrol officers observed a vehicle matching the car driven by the suspects.
Officers stopped that car nearby and took the two suspects into custody. A gun
was recovered in the vehicle. The motive for the shooting is under
investigation.
The
suspects are charged with first and second degree murder and related charges.
They are in custody at the Department of Corrections.

PGPD Arresta a Dos Sospechosos por Mortal Tiroteo en
Oxon Hill
La Unidad de Homicidios sometió
cargos contra dos individuos en conexión a un mortal tiroteo ocurrido el lunes
en Oxon Hill. La víctima fue identificada como Howard Nakia Graham, de 24 años
de edad y vecino de Washington DC. Los sospechosos fueron identificados como
Deantre Hilliard, de 24 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 1400 de Tobias Drive
en Southeast Washington DC, y Leonard Toney, de 39 años de edad y vecino de la
cuadra 4400 de Reverend Davis Drive en Upper Marlboro.
El 30 de marzo, a eso de las 7:40 pm,
nuestros oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la cuadra 800 de Southern Avenue
tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. Los oficiales hallaron a Graham en
las afueras con múltiples heridas de bala. A éste le declararon muerto en la
escena. Una segunda persona también resultó herida, no obstante, sus heridas no
eran grave.
Los oficiales que acudieron a la
escena observaron un vehículo que coincidía con la descripción provista sobre
el auto que manejaban los sospechosos. Estos detuvieron el vehículo en un área cercana
y pusieron a los sospechosos bajo custodia. Se recuperó un arma dentro del
vehículo. El motivo del tiroteo aun permanece bajo investigación.
Los sospechosos enfrentan cargos por
asesinato en primer y segundo grado, entre otros. Ambos se encuentran bajo
custodia en el Departamento de Corrección.
