PGPD Investigates Homicide in Chillum

Homicide Unit detectives are actively working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who shot and killed a man in Chillum. The victim is 19-year-old Nelson Leon-Umana of Adelphi. 

On February 28th, at approximately 2:05 pm, officers responded to the 6600 block of Chillum Manor Road for a welfare check. Responding officers located the victim in a wooded area suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify suspect(s).

PGPD Investiga Homicidio en Area de Chillum

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios buscan identificar y arrestar al sospechoso(s) que mató a tiros a un joven en Chillum. La víctima fue identificada como Nelson Leon Umana, de 19 años de edad y vecino del área de Adelphi.

El 28 de febrero, a eso de las 2:05 de la tarde, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 6600 de Chillum Manor Road tras recibir una llamada sobre chequeo de bienestar. Al llegar a la escena, los oficiales hallaron a la víctima con una herida de bala en un área boscosa. A éste le declararon muerto en la escena.

Los detectives continúan investigando para establecer el motivo del asesinato e identificar un sospechoso(s).
