The
Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is asking for the community’s
assistance as we continue to investigate a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run in
Forestville in February. Investigators need assistance in identifying the
victim. We are also still looking for the driver who fled the scene and the
involved car.
On
February 21st, at approximately 8:50 pm, patrol officers
were called to Pennsylvania Avenue at Forestville Road for a report of a
pedestrian collision. Once on scene, officers located the victim in
the roadway suffering from critical injuries. He was pronounced dead on the
scene.
The
unidentified victim is described as a Hispanic male in his 20’s. He is 5’ 9”
and weighs approximately 250 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. The
victim was wearing two gray sweatshirts and a blue T-shirt with “Patagonia” on
the front. He also had on a black T-shirt with a face from “Deadpool” on the
front. He had on black pants, a black “Buffalo David Bitton” jacket and black
high-top sneakers.

The
striking vehicle is described as a model year 2015 or newer white Toyota. At
the time, the vehicle may have had front-end driver’s side damage to
include the windshield, headlamp and a missing driver’s side mirror.
The
preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was attempting to cross
Pennsylvania Ave mid-block when he was struck by the Toyota. The victim was not
in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

PGPD Pide Ayuda de la Comunidad Para Identificar Víctima de Mortal Choque-y-Fuga
en Forestville
La Unidad de Reconstrucción y
Análisis de Choques pide ayuda a la comunidad mientras continuamos investigando
un mortal choque-y-fuga ocurrido en Forestville, durante el mes de febrero. Nuestros
detectives necesitan ayuda para identificar a la víctima. Además continuamos
buscando al conductor que huyo de la escena y su vehículo.
El 21 de febrero, a eso de la 8:50 pm,
oficiales de patrulla acudieron al área entre Pennsylvania Avenue y Forestville
Road tras recibir información sobre un choque contra un peatón. Una vez allí,
los oficiales hallaron a la víctima con heridas severas, en el rodaje. A éste
le declararon muerto en la escena.
La víctima no-identificada es
descrita como un hombre hispano de unos 20-30 años. Mide 5’9” y pesa
aproximadamente 250 libras, de pelo negro corto y ojos marrones. La víctima
llevaba puesto dos sudaderas grises y una camisa azul con el emblema de “Patagonia”
al frente. Además llevaba una camisa negra con el rostro de “Deadpool” al
frente. Tenía pantalones negros, un abrigo “Buffalo David Bitton” y tenis
high-top color negro.
El vehículo que le impactó fue
descrito como un Toyota color blanco, modelo del año 2015 en adelante. Tras
huir de la escena, el vehículo podría exhibir daños en la parte frontal del
lado del conductor incluyendo en los focos y el parabrisas. También le podría
faltar el espejo retrovisor del lado del conductor.
La investigación preliminar reveló
que el peatón intentaba cruzar Pennsylvania Avenue a media cuadra cuando fue
impactado por el Toyota. La víctima no se encontraba en un cruce peatonal al
momento del choque.
