The suspect wanted in connection with a recent fatal shooting in District Heights is in custody. He’s 20-year-old Daquon Parris of Bladensburg. He’s charged with the murder of 34-year-old Tremayne Crawford of Suitland.
On July 20, 2022, at
approximately 10:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 3300 block of
Walters Lane for a report of a shooting. Once on scene, officers located
the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he
died a short time later.
The preliminary investigation
revealed the suspect shot the victim during a dispute. They were known to each
other.
Parris is charged with first
and second degree murder and related charges. He was taken into custody in
Colonial Heights, Virginia, where he remains pending extradition to Maryland.
He has admitted his involvement in the fatal shooting.
