PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Brandywine


The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a double fatal crash in Brandywine. The drivers of both involved vehicles were killed. One of the deceased drivers is 39-year-old Santos Carbajal of Brandywine Road in Brandywine. Investigators are working to identify the second driver. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
On May 28that approximately 7:55 pm, patrol officers were called to Brandywine Road near Lee Acres Drive for a fatal vehicle collision. 
The preliminary investigation reveals the unidentified driver was in an SUV heading northbound on Brandywine Road, when for reasons that are under investigation, the driver entered the southbound lanes and struck Carbajal’s van head-on. Both drivers were pronounced dead on the scene.
