The Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the Langley Park area. The victim is 19-year-old Jesus Mestizo-Soto. His last known address was in Suitland. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On June 5, 2024, at approximately 11:30 pm, officers responded to the 1400 block of University Boulevard. The victim was located deceased inside of an apartment building. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Thursday and ruled the cause of death to be a gunshot wound and the manner a homicide. A second adult male was also located suffering from gunshot wounds.
Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and determine a motive.
