Detectives continue
to investigate a fatal shooting in Temple Hills on Wednesday.
The deceased man is 55-year-old David William
Taylor, Sr. of 28th Avenue in
Temple Hills.
On October 17th, at approximately 8:05 am, officers were called to the 4300 block of 23rd Place in Temple Hills for a welfare check of an unresponsive man in a backyard. When officers arrived, they discovered Taylor suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The preliminary
investigation reveals a resident in another home in the same neighborhood shot
Taylor after it’s believed he broke into the resident’s home. It appears that
after being shot, Taylor fled and collapsed several houses away.
Detectives have identified and interviewed
the resident. Detectives are
in consultation with the State's Attorney's Office regarding any
potential criminal charges in this case.
