The Prince George’s County Police
Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a collision in Beltsville that took
place in May. One of the involved drivers died
of his injuries earlier this month. He is 57-year-old
Rodney Wood of 3rd Street in Southeast Washington.
On May 26th, at approximately 4:40 am,
patrol officers were called to the 3100 block of Powder Mill Road for a
collision.
The preliminary investigation reveals Wood was driving a car southbound on Powder Mill Road and a truck was heading northbound. For reasons which remain under investigation, the truck crossed over the double yellow line and struck Wood’s car. Wood was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries. He died on October 3rd. The truck’s driver was not hurt.
