The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating two sexual assaults that occurred in Forestville, Maryland.
The first incident occurred on September 6, 2011, at approximately midnight in the 6200 block of Surrey Service Drive. The victim was approached from behind and inappropriately touched by a unknown male. After a short struggle, the victim was able to escape her attacker. The suspect in this incident is being described as a black male, approximately 25 to 30 years of age, dark complexion, close haircut, wearing a black t-shirt and dark denim jeans.
The second incident occurred on September 16, 2011, at approximately 10:00 p.m., in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Walters Lane. The victim was approached from behind and taken to a wooded area, where she was sexually assaulted. The suspect fled the area on foot in an unknown direction. Police are working to determine if the two attacks are connected.
Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) in these cases.
Police are asking that citizens report any suspicious activity that witnesses may have observed in the area. Police are encouraging citizens to be mindful of their surroundings, always walk in well lit areas and in groups whenever possible.
