Law Enforcement Officer Charged with Sex Offense

The Prince George’s County Police Department today charged a law enforcement officer in connection with a sexual offense. He’s 43-year-old Brian Tucker of Fort Washington. Tucker is a Maryland State Police trooper. He was off duty at the time of the offense.

On July 6, 2015, at about 2:00 am, a Prince George’s County Police Department officer was on patrol in the area of Rochell Avenue and Hazelwood Drive. The officer spotted an SUV parked in a cul-de-sac of a commercial area. As he went to investigate, the officer spotted Tucker and the victim outside of the SUV, standing on its passenger side. The woman alerted our officer Tucker had a gun. Tucker then identified himself to our officer as a Maryland State Police trooper.

The preliminary investigation reveals Tucker and the victim had agreed to engage in a sex act in exchange for money. During that encounter, the woman says Tucker forced her at gunpoint to engage in an additional sex act against her will.

Tucker is charged with first degree sex offense and a handgun charge. The gun in question is not the trooper’s duty weapon.

Any questions regarding the trooper’s duty status or employment history should be directed to the Maryland State Police Public Information Office.
