PGPD and Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" Distribution a "Tremendous Success!"

Prince George's County, Maryland …The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Community Services Division teamed up with the United States Marine Corps and numerous community partners to distribute more than 37,000 toys in this year’s “Toys for Tots” drive. The two-day event saw thousands of parents arrive at the Prince George’s County Police Services Complex to receive toys.

During the two-day event, Police Chief Mark Magaw participated in giving toys to families and putting smiles on many children’s faces. “It was sincerely my honor to join fellow members of our department handing out toys to families that might not otherwise have Christmas presents for their children,” Chief Magaw said. “This display of our officer’s devotion and commitment to local youth is a fine example of the outstanding service they provide our residents each and every day.”

“Toys for Tots” is run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve and has been helping families in need by collecting and distributing new toys for Christmas since 1947. This is the 5th annual partnership between Prince George’s County Police and the United States Marine Corps in the “Toys for Tots” program.
