Police Charge 12 Year Old With Murder
Prince George's County Police homicide detectives charged a 12-year-old boy last night with second degree murder. The victim was a two-year-old girl who lived with the boy in the 1800 block of Taylor Avenue in Fort Washington. On Tuesday, police were called to the home after the toddler's father called 911 to report the child was unresponsive. With the help of a 911dispatcher, the father performed CPR on the toddler. Paramedics arrived and took the child to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy Wednesday confirmed the girl died of blunt force trauma. Through the course of the investigation, detectives learned the 12 year old had beaten the child repeatedly. The boy has been remanded to the Cheltenham Youth Facility. At this time, he is not being charged as an adult.

Thank goodness this little boy will never face the electric chair or life without parole. Those are cruel and unusual punishment... Unlike his beating and killing of his sister.
According to another article I read, this child had been placed in this home as a foster child by Child Protective Services. What was she being protected from that could have been worse than what she faced at the house they found to be safe. Wouldn't you think they would have a better screening system? One that would have more supervision than a 15yr old being left in charge of a 12,4,and 2 yr old. How sad. I'm glad I'm not the one who will have to tell the little girls what happened.
