Detectives Charge Two Suspects in October Oxon Hill Fatal Shooting

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives identified and charged two suspects in connection with a double fatal shooting in Oxon Hill in October.  The suspects are 31-year-old Charles Washington Jr. and 32-year-old Antonio Jackson, both of Washington DC. They’re charged with fatally shooting 41-year-old Derrick Graham of Oxon Hill and 32-year-old DeAngelo Moore of Washington DC.

On October 3, 2023, shortly before midnight, officers responded to the 800 block of Irvington Street for a shooting. The officers located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. Graham was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Moore died of his injuries two days later.    

 

The preliminary investigation revealed Washington, Jackson and the decedent, DeAngelo Moore, were attempting to rob the deceased victim, Graham, at gunpoint when the shooting occurred. During the robbery attempt, both Moore and Graham were shot. Graham did not have a weapon. The three suspects were not known to the victim.

 

Washington is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. Jackson is charged with second degree murder. They are both in custody in Washington, DC, pending extradition to Prince George’s County.

PGPD Investigating Commercial Robbery String

 

The PGPD’s Robbery Unit is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for a recent string of commercial armed robberies. So far the suspect(s) is linked to as many as 10 robberies since early November. A cash reward is available for information leading to an arrest and indictment.

 The most recent armed robbery occurred on November 28, 2023, at approximately 7:25 pm, at a restaurant in the 2000 block of University Boulevard in the Chillum area. In this case, one employee suffered a minor injury when the suspect threatened him with a knife. The 10 robberies occurred at a variety of businesses, primarily in the 2000 block of University Boulevard. Detectives believe the suspect(s) may have ties to this area.

Detectives Release Surveillance Video of October Fatal Shooting

 

Detectives with the Homicide Unit today released surveillance video of a fatal shooting that took place in October. Investigators are asking the community to watch the video and provide any information that could help solve the murder of 44-year-old Kevin Jason Paul of Silver Spring. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.     

On October 19, 2023, at approximately 10:05 pm, officers responded to the 3400 block of 52^nd Avenue in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville. The officers located Paul outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. 

 

On the video, the suspect(s) is seen driving down 52^nd Avenue in a dark-colored sedan, believed to be a newer-model Toyota Corolla. The driver turns around, turns off the car’s headlights and then parks. A suspect exits the car and fires multiple rounds, striking the victim, before fleeing the area.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Capitol Heights

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances of a fatal shooting on Monday. The victim is 57-year-old Donald Head of no fixed address. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On November 27, 2023, at approximately 8:25 am, officers responded to a shooting in the 1700 block of Kenilworth Avenue in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. Officers located the victim outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s). Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

Detectives Arrest Three Suspects in Landover Hills Fatal Shooting

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives identified and arrested three suspects in connection with a recent murder in Landover Hills. The suspects are 47-year-old Eris Lopez, 20-year-old Omar Valdez Granados and 20-year-old German Escobar Hernandez. All three suspects are from Lanham. They’re charged with murdering 45-year-old Federico Cruz Ojeda of Landover Hills.

On November 23, 2023, at approximately 7:15 pm, officers responded to a shooting in the 7100 block of Webster Street. Officers located the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspects shot the victim during a dispute. They were known to each other.  

 

The PGPD investigates all homicides in the town of Landover Hills.

PGPD Investigating Domestic-Related Murder/Suicide in Lanham

The Homicide Unit is investigating a domestic-related murder/suicide in Lanham this weekend. The deceased victim is 16-year-old Dorian Jaeger whose last known address was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The deceased suspect is 50-year-old Natalie Jaeger also of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is the victim’s mother.

On November 25, 2023, at approximately 2:05 pm, officers responded to the 10400 block of Greenbelt Road for a report of two deceased individuals in a wooded area. The preliminary investigation revealed Natalie Jaeger shot and killed her son before killing herself. The motive for the murder is under investigation. The mother and son recently arrived in the area after moving from Wisconsin.

Fatal Crash in Accokeek Under Investigation

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash in Accokeek. The deceased passenger is 32-year-old Kayla Williams-Rawlinson of Upper Marlboro.

On November 25, 2023, shortly after midnight, officers responded to Berry Road and Farmington Road E for a crash. Williams-Rawlinson was pronounced deceased while being transported to a hospital. A second passenger, an adult male, suffered critical, potentially life-threatening injuries. The driver’s injuries are considered minor.

The preliminary investigation revealed the car was traveling northbound on Berry Road, when for reasons now under investigation, the driver left the roadway and ultimately struck a concrete culvert.

On November 24, 2023, at approximately 5:10 pm, officers responded to the 600 block of Audrey Lane for a shooting. Officers located the victim outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).

Missing Man Found

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in finding a missing man. He is identified as 61-year-old Gregory Cook. He was last seen in the 4100 block of Bunker Hill Road in Cottage City at approximately 4 pm on November 25, 2023.

Mr. Cook is a black male, 5'10" tall and 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark gray shirt, gray sweatpants with a black stripe and white Nike shoes.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Landover Hills

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances of a fatal shooting Thursday night in Landover Hills. The deceased victim is 45-year-old Frederico Cruz Ojeda of Landover Hills. In this case, a reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.

 

On November 23, 2023, at approximately 7:15 pm, officers responded to a shooting in the 7100 block of Webster Street. Once on scene, officers located Cruz Ojeda suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

 

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).

Brandywine Domestic-Related Fatal Shooting Update

The victim in the fatal shooting that occurred Monday night inside of a Brandywine home is 62-year-old Lewis Parker, Sr. of Brandywine. Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Parker’s nephew, 29-year-old Elijah Drew of Somers Point, New Jersey. The PGPD was informed Tuesday afternoon that Drew died from what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

On November 20, 2023, at approximately 11:50 pm, officers responded to the 15000 block of Brandywine Road for the report of a shooting. The officers located the victim inside of his home suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital where he died several hours later.  

With the assistance of Clinton Division V Investigators, Homicide Unit detectives identified Drew as the suspect shortly after the shooting. The preliminary investigation revealed he traveled to New Jersey after committing the murder. The motive for the fatal shooting is under investigation.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision Involving Students in Town of Riverdale Park

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit (CARU) is investigating a fatal collision outside of Riverdale Elementary School in Riverdale Park on Monday. Two students were struck as they walked to school and died of their injuries. The victims are 10-year-old Shalom Mbah of Riverdale and five-year-old Sky Sosa of Riverdale. An adult male who was walking with the victims was also struck. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

On November 20, 2023, at approximately 8:00 am, PGPD officers and officers with the Riverdale Park Police Department responded to the 5000 block of Riverdale Road. The officers immediately began to provide medical aid to the two students who were suffering critical injuries. They were both transported to a hospital where they died a short time later.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed the involved driver, an adult female, was driving a van southbound on Taylor Road toward Riverdale Road. The driver made a left turn onto Riverdale Road where she struck the two students and the man who were crossing the street in a crosswalk. The van’s driver was not injured.

 

As is standard with all fatal crashes, once the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit completes its investigation, the findings are turned over to the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office for consideration of criminal charges. CARU’s investigation can take months to complete. The PGPD investigates all fatal crashes that occur in the town of Riverdale Park.
