The Prince George’s County Police Department’s
Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal
collision in the unincorporated portion of Upper Marlboro. The victim is
69-year-old Collel Massey Jr., of Fairhaven Avenue in Upper Marlboro.
On June 25th, at
approximately 10:20 am, patrol officers were called to the area of
Pennsylvania Avenue and Woodyard Road for a fatal collision involving
a single car. Massey was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries. He
died several hours later. He was the only occupant in the car.
The preliminary investigation reveals Massey was travelling eastbound on Pennsylvania Avenue approaching the exit ramp onto Woodyard Road, when for reasons that remain under investigation, his car left the roadway and ultimately struck a tree.
