Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested 56-year old Ottmar Amasa Johnson in connection with the murder of 35-year old Robert M. Reid in Hyattsville, Maryland.
Homicide detectives identified Ottmar Johnson, of the 5000 block of Market Street in Philadelphia as a suspect in this case and obtained a first degree murder warrant for his arrest. Johnson was arrested in Philadelphia on March 1, 2012, without incident. He was extradited back to Prince George’s County and is currently at the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.
On April 5, 2008, at approximately 6:22 a.m., officers responded to the 4700 block of 66th Place for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they discovered Robert Reid, of the 900 block of University Boulevard in Silver Spring, located in the basement of a home suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. Investigators determined that Johnson shot Reid after an altercation between the two while at a house party.
