In their
own words. Two of our District II patrol officers narrowly escaped injury this
week when a dump truck driver intentionally plowed into their cruisers. On
Wednesday, Officers Lauchman and Bragg arrived early for a squad lunch in
Glenarden. They were outside of their cruisers talking, when the dump
truck driver targeted them. The suspect has a history of mental illness. This
appears to be an isolated incident. The entire Prince George’s County Police
Department is proud of Officers Lauchman and Bragg, who handled this
dangerous situation with courage and composure. We know our community and
many beyond our county borders overwhelmingly support our officers too – at
last check one of our Facebook posts had reached more than 1.2 million people.
