Homicide
Unit detectives are actively working to arrest the suspect(s) who fatally
shot a teenager on Monday night. The victim
is 16-year-old Kevin Wilson Jr., of Plymouth
Street in Silver Spring. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a
random crime and are following strong leads in this case.
On
August 6th, at approximately 7:05
pm, patrol officers responded to the 6700 block of New Hampshire Avenue in
the unincorporated portion of Hyattsville for the report of a shooting. When they arrived
on the scene, officers discovered Wilson in a parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was
taken to the hospital where he died a few hours later.
Detectives
are working to identify a suspect(s) and establish a motive.
