The Homicide Unit is actively
working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who shot and killed a man overnight in Oxon Hill. The victim
is 24-year-old Ravond Simms of Ivanhoe Street in Southwest Washington,
DC. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe
this was a random crime.
On May 7th, at approximately
12:00 am, patrol officers responded to the 5200 block of Kenmont Road for the
report of a shooting. They located the victim on the sidewalk suffering from
gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are working to
identify the suspect(s) and determine a motive.
