Detectives with the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday morning. The victim is 40-year-old Murat Pacal of Takoma Park. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On December 5, 2023, at approximately 3:05 am, officers responded to a shooting in the 6700 block of New Hampshire Avenue in the unincorporated section of Takoma Park. Officers located the victim outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).
