Prince George’s County, Maryland…Police Chief Roberto L. Hylton and county officials joined community leaders and neighborhood civic groups for the 27th Annual National Night Out last night.
The events, sponsored by National Association of Town Watch, heightened public awareness of crime and drug prevention programs and generated support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts throughout the county. The interaction in the communities strengthened neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and also showed a unity in the fight against criminal activity.
“This event allows us as police officers to come face to face with community members and thank them for their efforts in fighting crime in Prince George’s County. By reporting suspicious activity within their communities, they are essentially the first line of defense against crime. Without their cooperation, courage, and diligence we would not be able to effectively carry out our duties as Prince George’s County Police Officers,” said Chief Roberto Hylton.
