PGPD to Canvass Upper Marlboro Community in Attempted Abduction Investigation

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating the attempted abduction of a 16-year-old girl in Upper Marlboro. Detectives will canvass the neighborhood this evening as they work to identify the suspect. 

On November 6, 2014, at about 5:00 pm, a man grabbed the teenage girl as she walked by a basketball court on her way home. This happened in the 1700 block of Robert Lewis Avenue. The victim was able to pull away from the suspect as he tried to force her into nearby woods. She was not hurt. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’6” and 130 lbs. He was wearing a gray beanie and a gray and yellow jacket.

Detectives will begin the canvass this evening at 5:00 pm. They’ll focus their efforts near the 1700 block of Robert Lewis Avenue.
