The Prince George’s County Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant charging a Bladensburg man with first degree rape. On March 4, 2015, at 8:15 pm, a woman was walking in the 3800 block of 38th Avenue in Cottage City when the suspect grabbed her from behind, put a knife to her throat and attacked her in a secluded area off the street. Our officers are actively searching for the suspect whose identity we’ll release shortly.
The suspect is considered a person of interest in three additional rapes that have occurred within a two-mile radius on the following dates at these locations:
- September 8, 2014 at 6:45 pm in the 5100 block of Quincy Street, Bladensburg
- October 20, 2014 at 8:45 pm in the 5800 block of Annapolis Road, Cheverly
- February 25, 2015 at 7:20 pm in the 4100 block of 54th Street, Bladensburg
The Prince George’s County Police Department will hold a news conference this afternoon to share additional details with our community.
