PGPD Adding Nextdoor to Social Media Engagement Plan

The Prince George’s County Police Department is proud to become the first police department in the region to use Nextdoor. Nextdoor is a private social network that allows only verified neighbors to participate. The PGPD already uses several major social media platforms to engage directly with the community we serve. We’re thankful to have tens of thousands of followers already. Beginning Thursday, we’re signing on to Nextdoor with the goal of reaching thousands more.

At police headquarters, Deputy Chief Hank Stawinski will reveal details of our new partnership with Nextdoor. More than 45% of the neighborhoods in our county have already launched their own Nextdoor websites.
