This evening, detectives with our Homicide Unit will canvass a Lewisdale neighborhood to gather additional information in a fatal shooting Tuesday morning. The victim is 24-year-old Cristian Garcia-Rodriguez of Drexel Street in Lewisdale. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On November 1st, at about 12:50 am, patrol officers were called to the 6700 block of 20th Avenue for a shooting. The officers found the victim outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this case. The canvass will begin at 6:00 pm in the 6700 block of 20th Avenue.
