Homicide Unit detectives
arrested and charged a suspect in connection with a recent homicide in
Suitland. The suspect is 26-year-old Kevin Smith of the 2400 block of Ewing
Street in Suitland. He is charged with fatally stabbing 34-year-old Dwayne
Coleman of Suitland.
On
April 17th, at approximately 11:30 pm, officers responded
to the 3400 block of Bonita Street for a reported
stabbing. Responding officers located the victim inside of a
residence suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead
on the scene.
The
preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and the victim were
acquaintances. Smith stabbed
and killed Coleman during an argument. Smith is charged with first and second
degree murder and related charges. He is in custody of the Department of
Corrections on a no-bond status.

Detectives Arrestan Sospechoso en Caso de Homicidio en
Suitland
Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios
arrestaron y sometieron cargos contra un sospechoso en conexión a un homicidio
reciente en Suitland. El sospechoso fue identificado como Kevin Smith, de 26
años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 2400 de Ewing Street, en Suitland. Se le acusa
de haber apuñalado mortalmente a Dwayne Coleman, de 34 años de edad y vecino de
Suitland.
El 17 de abril, a eso de las 11:30 de
la noche, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 3400 de Bonita Street tras
recibir información sobre un apuñalamiento. Al llegar allí, los oficiales
hallaron a la víctima con múltiples puñaladas, dentro de una residencia. A éste
le declararon muerto en la escena.
La investigación preliminar reveló
que el sospechoso y la víctima eran allegados. Smith apuñaló mortalmente a Coleman
en medio de un argumento. Smith enfrenta cargos por asesinato en primer y
segundo grado, entre otros. Se encuentra bajo la custodia del Departamento de
Corrección, sin derecho a fianza.
