PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Lanham

Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Lanham on Monday night. The victim is 33-year-old Cameron Smith of Lanham. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On May 19, 2025, at approximately 8:20 pm, officers responded to the 9300 block of Lanham Severn Road for the report of a shooting. Officers located Smith suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital, where he died a short time later. A second victim was also shot. He remains in critical but stable condition.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s). Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime.

Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios investigan un tiroteo fatal ocurrido en Lanham el lunes por la noche. La víctima es Cameron Smith, de 33 años y residente de Lanham. Se ofrece una recompensa de hasta $25,000 por información que conduzca a un arresto y acusación formal en este caso.
 
El 19 de mayo de 2025, aproximadamente a las 8:20 p.m., oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 9300 de Lanham Severn Road tras recibir un reporte de un tiroteo. Oficiales localizaron a Smith con múltiples heridas de bala. La víctima fue trasladada a un hospital, donde falleció poco después. Una segunda víctima también recibió fue disparado.
